Page Content Description
Oregon Healthy Teens (OHT) is Oregon's effort to monitor the health and well-being of adolescents. One goal of this collaborative project is to provide county-level information for communities to use in identifying key issues of concern, and in planning and evaluating efforts to improve outcomes for young people.
The tables below contain the results for all respondents of all questions asked on the survey in both 2007 and 2008. The left column under each grade indicates the number of surveys from that county and grade in the 2007/2008 period. (See the main OHT 2007 and 2008 data pages to view/download a copy of the survey questionnaire.)
The tables below are from all respondents in all districts and schools within each county that participated in either the 2007 or 2008 OHT.
Oregon Healthy Teens has a high participation rate from districts and schools, so the estimates below are generally good representations of the 8th and 11th grade students in each county. However, in two counties, Marion and Washington, districts that represent a majority of the counties' students declined to participate in both 2007 and 2008. Because a large proportion of students were not sampled, it is uncertain whether our estimates accurately represent all 8th and 11th grade students in these two counties. Some counties did not participate in either 2007 or 2008.
We urge county health agencies, community planning groups, and schools to participate in Oregon Healthy Teens, so that they can use the information to develop and support activities and environments that encourage healthy behaviors and healthy lives.
How to Read the Tables
For each county, tables are presented for 8th and 11th grade. Under each grade, the first column (count) indicates the total unweighted number of respondents for the two year period. The second column is a pdf file of the tables, broken out by gender.
One data table is included for each question asked in 2007 and 2008. In most cases, the question was asked in both years. In some instances, a question was asked only in one year. The title of the table indicates the year in which the question was asked.
Each table provides weighted percents and unweighted counts.
