Varicella (Chickenpox) (vaccine-preventable)

Factsheet

Varicella is usually a mild disease in healthy children.  Severe cases can cause infection leading to death. Varicella disease can cause more complications and severe infection as children enter adolescence and adulthood.  Childhood immunization is recommended.
