Drinking Water Services (DWS) now offers an advanced course that is appropriate for operators who have completed the basics course
two or more times. Like the basics course, the advanced course is a free one-day course that meets the training requirement for recertification. However, this course covers new topics and operators use information from their own water systems to complete hands-on activities in class. For this reason, the advanced class is not offered as an online class. More information about the course can be found in the April Pipeline 2012
Advanced courses run from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (PST). Class dates and locations are listed in the table below:
Registration for the advanced course is handled by the DWS Springfield office. To register, contact Drue Edney at 541-726-2587, ext. 25, or firstname.lastname@example.org
, or submit the registration form provided in the Course Schedule table, above. Class size is limited.
For other course-related questions, contact Betsy Parry at 541-726-2587, ext. 30, or email@example.com
Course Credit & Certification
Upon course completion, attendees receive 0.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). This class also meets the training requirements for Small Water System Operator Certification
At the completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of attendance. For small water system certification, please attach a photocopy of the certificate of attendance to the Small Water System Operator application (pdf)
, complete the application, and mail to the address listed on the application form.
Reference versions of the materials used in the 2012 advanced course are provided below. The course content was revised after its pilot year (2011) and scaled down from four topics to three.
