Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing is a technique frequently used in health counseling that is a collaborative method to help elicit and strengthen motivation for change. Using motivational interviewing techniques in interactions with WISEWOMAN clients can help increase the likelihood that they will adopt healthy lifestyle choices. Motivational Interviewing is a technique that providers can use when either referring clients to community resources like Living Well or the Tobacco Quit Line, or when delivering the New Leaf program.
