Revised Total Coliform Rule Amendments
The Oregon Health Authority (Authority), Public
Health Division is proposing to permanently amend and adopt Oregon
Administrative Rules in chapter 333, division 61 relating to protection against
microbiological contamination in public drinking water systems and the
prevention of waterborne illness. The
rulemaking will ensure that Authority rules are no less stringent than
corresponding federal regulations so that the Authority will be granted primary
enforcement responsibility (primacy) for the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency’s Revised Total Coliform Rule.
Rule amendments will also ensure primacy for
regulations related to monitoring for organic chemicals as well as clarifying
the rules by removing old rule language with no current or future applicability.

Drinking Water Services Fee Amendments
The Oregon Health Authority, Drinking Water Services (the Authority) is proposing to amend five Oregon Administrative Rules related to fees for services supporting public water systems. These amendments are necessary for the Authority to maintain its current level of service in certifying backflow testers, cross connection specialists and water system operators as well as reviewing construction plans and conducting sanitary survey inspections.
