Mid Coast Beaches

Recreation Status (Memorial Day through Labor Day)*

The status of beaches along the mid coast is based on beach water quality monitoring that

occurs between Memorial Day and Labor Day. This monitoring data is used for recreational

swimming and bathing purposes only.

The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) and Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife

(ODFW) jointly issue shellfish safety closures to protect recreational shellfish harvesters from

consuming clams or mussels contaminated with harmful biotoxins

* Always check the biotoxin status of a beach you want to harvest shellfish from by visiting the

SEWAGE	Sewage spill or major pollution event occurred. No swimming or water contact activities.
