Proposed Rulemaking - Closure Criteria for Pools & Spas (OAR 333-060 and 333-062) 

The Oregon Health Authority, Public Health Division is proposing to permanently adopt and amend Oregon Administrative Rules in chapter 333, division 60, Public Swimming Pools, and chapter 333, division 62, Public Spa Pools, related to inspection enforcement and pool closure criteria. The proposed rules help address the concerns of public pool and spa license holders and operators concerning when a pool or spa should be closed because of an immediate danger to the health and safety of the public and bathers.

Rules for Organizational Camps

The Public Pool and Tourist Facility Program - in partnership with organizational camp owners, local public health authorities, and public input - successfully revised the Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) for organizational camps. The new rules went into effect January 25, 2013.

This interpretation of the Federal "Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act" is the state's initial guidance for complying with the Federal legislation before the deadline on December 19, 2008. All public pools are effected by this legislation.
