Climate and Health Impact Assessment
boat under bridge

Our Climate and Health Program is closely linked with Oregon’s Health Impact Assessment (HIA) program.

One of our current projects is evaluating Metro Regional Government’s Climate Smart Communities Scenarios and describing the health impacts of proposed carbon-reduction strategies. The assessment will be presented to the Metro Council and help to ensure health-promoting climate policy.

In partnership with Upstream Public Health, the HIA team also co-developed a Climate Change Policy HIA Toolkit to assist public health professionals in conducting HIAs on local climate change policies.
