In PPMP laboratories the PPMP tests may only be performed by a Physician, Dentist,  Podiatrist or Physician Assistant licensed by the Board of Medical Examiners for the State of Oregon; or a Nurse Practitioner licensed and certified by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. When PPMP tests are performed by other personnel, the laboratory becomes moderate complexity.

A laboratory that performs any test not in the waived or PPMP category will be considered either moderate or high complexity and must meet applicable requirements.
