Cannabis Testing

Resources for Laboratories Seeking Accreditation for Cannabis Testing

ORELAP accredits Cannabis testing under ORS 475C.540 to 475C.590.  Laboratories are accredited to the TNI Standard and are held accountable to the rules found in OAR Chapter 333, Division 64.  Currently, laboratories must be located in Oregon to be accredited for Cannabis testing.

Permanent changes to OAR 333 Division 7 and 64 effective March 31, 2022
  • Establishes compliance testing for heavy metals (effective March 1, 2023), microorganisms (effective March 1, 2023), and mycotoxins (effective July 1, 2022).
  • Changes sampling batch size from 15 pounds to 50 pounds (effective July 1, 2022).
  • Eliminates control studies and changes sampling procedures for products, concentrates, extracts, and inhalable industrial hemp-derived vapor items.
  • Sets minimum accuracy criteria for compliance testing.
