Actively growing isolated organism, in pure culture, on an agar slant or plate media, or swab specimen from urethra, cervix, pharynx, rectum, conjunctiva or other affected body site.

Handling
Seal tube or plate and place isolate or swab into biohazard bag. Do not freeze.
Transport
Transport to lab within 24 hours of collection at room or refrigerated temperatures.
Rejection Criteria
Specimens received more than 48 hours after specimen collection.
