Collection

Actively growing isolated organism, in pure culture, on an agar slant or plated media.

Handling

​Seal plate or tube, place in biohazard bag; keep at room temperature or refrigerate.  Do not freeze, avoid extreme heat.  Submit specimen according to Infectious Substance Shipping Guidelines.

Transport

​Room temperature or wet ice

Rejection Criteria

​Broken or leaking containers, unlabeled specimens, or specimens with incomplete requisition forms will not be processed.
