Program Design and Evaluation Services (PDES) is a unique research and evaluation unit within both the Multnomah County Health Department and Oregon Health Authority Public Health Division. The PDES team of experts provides a full range of professional services to design, evaluate, and refine public health programs.
The Public Health IRB is a joint board with the Oregon Health Authority Public Health Division and the Multnomah County Health Department. The IRB reviews research activities involving human subjects to ensure that the rights and well-being of persons participating in research are protected, and that the research activities are in compliance with 45 CFR 46 and Public Health Division policies. The Science and Evaluation unit is responsible for leading strategic initiatives that ensure excellence in epidemiology and the science of population health across the division. Program Design and Evaluation Services, co-supported by Multnomah County Health Department, is also included as well as the Institutional Review board.
