About Us

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is one of five agencies across the country that received a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of the Climate-Ready States and Cities Initiative. This program is intended to help agencies address the public health effects of climate change related events.

The Climate and Public Health Program is part of Research and Education Services in the Center for Health Protection.

In Oregon, public health officials have:

  • Conducted workshops
  • Created presentations on preparing for climate change-related events in a public health context
  • Established a mini-grant process for counties to implement their own climate change preparedness
