Emergency Medical Services and Trauma Systems

Emergency Medical Services and Trauma Systems regulates and provides technical assistance and support to emergency medical care providers throughout Oregon; encourages improvements in the emergency care of pediatric patients; and develops, supports and regulates systems that provide emergency care to victims of sudden illness or traumatic injury.

Health Security, Preparedness and Response

Health Security, Preparedness and Response works with the Conference of Local Health Officials (CLHO) and the region's Tribes to develop plans and procedures that better prepare Oregon to respond to, mitigate, and recover from all public health emergencies. This effort is an emergency response collaboration with Oregon Emergency Management (OEM) and local Emergency Management.

Performance Management Program
The Performance Management Program works to promote and protect the health of the public by advancing the quality, performance and equity of the Oregon public health system, which includes state, local, and tribal public health departments and public-private partnerships.
Policy and Planning

The Policy and Planning unit is responsible for planning and coordinating public health policy development across the division and works closely with the Oregon Health Authority Government Relations team.

Science and Evaluation

About Us

The Office of the State Public Health Director provides public health policy and direction to the public health programs within the Division, and ensures that the disparate programs within and outside the Division create an effective and coherent public health system for the state. This includes extensive interactions with a range of state and local agencies and organizations, many of them outside the health care community.
