SAFE KIDS Oregon unites public and private organizations including emergency responders, law enforcement, health and safety professionals as well as interested citizens who work together to reduce unintentional preventable injury and death in Oregon's children ages 0 - 14.

“Injury Prevention as Every Oregonian’s Approach to Life.”

ince 1995, Safe Kids Oregon has been raising awareness about preventable childhood unintentional injuries and deaths by supporting public awareness campaigns, providing education and training, distributing safety items and educational materials, and supporting child safety policies and laws through its statewide Safe Kids network. Community Involvement

Safe Kids Oregon is the state office of Safe Kids USA, the first and only national organization dedicated solely to the prevention of unintentional childhood injury – the number one killer of children ages 14 and under. More than 300 state and local Safe Kids Coalitions in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico comprise the Campaign. Nine chapters and five local coalitions geographically represent Safe Kids Oregon, reaching approximately 85% of Oregon’s children under the age of 14.

Oregon’s network has been national recognized as a leader in the field of injury prevention.  In 1998, Safe Kids Oregon won the “State Coalition of the Year” award from Safe Kids Worldwide.  In 2005 & 2006, the state director was nominated as “Outstanding U.S. State Coordinator,” and in 2007, Safe Kids Oregon was a finalist for the “Outstanding Public Policy Award.”
