Program Design & Evaluation Services

Program Design and Evaluation Services (PDES) is a unique research and evaluation unit within both the Multnomah County Health Department and Oregon Public Health Division. We provide ongoing evaluation support to county and state programs, initiate and conduct applied research studies, and contract with organizations across the country to improve community health, shape public policy, and reduce health disparities.

Our interdisciplinary team of more than 20 people includes doctoral-level psychologists, health services researchers, statisticians, community health researchers, and epidemiologists, along with research analysts, project managers and coordinators, interviewers, and support staff.

PDES staff have been with us for an average of seven years, and they share a deep commitment to applying their skills to promote healthy communities. Our collaborative work environment sparks robust exploration and discussion of critical issues. PDES staff are regular presenters at national conferences and authors in leading peer-reviewed journals.
