Office of Community Liaison 

The Office of Community Liaison provides technical assistance to local health departments and consultation to administrators and managers of local health departments.

This office serves as liaison between state public health services program staff and local health departments and interprets local health department issues to state program staff, schools of nursing and other agencies. The office also coordinates and prepares the review of local health departments and conducts the administrative, medical records, and civil rights components of the agency reviews.

What we do:

  • Provide local health departments technical assistance to implement their public health improvement plans;
  • Provide health care services consultation to administrators and managers of local health departments;
  • Serve as liaison between state public health services program staff and local health departments;
  • Interprets local health department issues to state program staff, schools of nursing and other agencies;
  • Plan, coordinate, and prepare public health services' review of local health department services; and 
  • Conduct the administrative, medical records, and civil rights components of the agency review process.

 The Office of Community Liaison is supported by the Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant.
