Office of the State Public Health Director 

The Office of the State Public Health Director (OSPHD) provides public health policy and direction to the public health programs within the division, and ensures that the disparate programs within and outside the division create an effective and coherent public health system for the state. This includes extensive interactions with a range of state and local agencies and organizatioons, many of them outsideĀ  the health care community.

 Programs

Ensures that every community and hospital has an improving level of preparedness for health and medical emergencies by supporting the development and testing of plans, training and collaboration between communities and with adjacent states.
Provides technical assistance to local health departments and consultation to administrators and managers of local health departments.
The Performance Management Program works to promote and protect the health of the public by advancing the quality, performance and equity of the Oregon public health system.
Identifying data exchange needs and opportunities. Pursuing strategies that enable Oregon providers to meet Public Health meaningful use objectives that require electronic data submission.
