The mission of the Oregon Health Authority’s Public Health Division is to promote health and prevent the leading causes of death, disease and injury in Oregon. Oregon needs a strong public health system to achieve better health outcomes at lower costs and to transform health care delivery. 

Public health is carried out through a system of federal, state and local agencies, private organizations and other diverse partners to ensure service excellence, leadership, integrity and health equity.
