Kirk D. Wolfe, M.D., is a child and adolescent psychiatrist practicing in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Wolfe consults with the Morrison Center, Portland Public Schools and the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center (CDRC), and has a private practice. He is a clinical assistant professor with the Division of Child Psychiatry at Oregon Health Sciences University and president-elect of the Oregon Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists.
He worked with the Governor's Task Force on Youth Suicide Prevention in 1996, was chairman of the first Oregon Youth Suicide Prevention Conference in 1997 and worked with the Oregon Health Services as part of a statewide team to develop Oregon's youth suicide prevention plan. Dr. Wolfe developed the S.T.E.P.S. (Student and Teacher Education in Preventing Suicide) program? their brochure is based on this publication.
