Introduction

During the 2009 Legislative Session, Oregon State Legislators passed a law that requires chain restaurants in Oregon to provide information about the nutritional values in food. Under House Bill 2726 (pdf) - all chain restaurants are required to provide, upon request, information about the nutrition values for calories, trans fat, saturated fat, sodium and carbohydrates starting January 1, 2010. Starting in January 2011, chain restaurants are required to post calories on their menus.
