Oregon Alliance Working for Antibiotic Resistance Education (AWARE) is dedicated to driving initiatives that can reduce the problem of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in Oregon.  To this end, AWARE encourages partners of this initiative to acquire and distribute these appropriate antibiotics use literature.

These materials were developed by Oregon Health Authority and Oregon AWARE. Here you can acquire electronic versions of this material. All material on this page may be reproduced as needed; however literature content should not be altered without the permission of Oregon AWARE.

Oregon AWARE invites advocates of the judicious use of antibiotics to become a point-of-distribution. Bulk printed materials are available free of charge for distribution, place your request online or with a fax form.

English parent brochure: Antibiotics Are Not Always the Answer.
Encourages the appropriate use of antibiotics and clarifies the difference between common viral and bacterial upper respiratory illnesses of childhood. Seventh grade reading level. Size 4" x 9", opens to 8" x 9".

Spanish brochure: ¡La Penicilina no Sirve Para Todo!

Adult brochure:  How Does Antibiotic Resistance Affect Your Health? The elderly population is more at risk for suffering from adverse effects when using antibiotics.  Encourages the appropriate use of antibiotics, hand washing and taking medications as prescribed.
