Clackamas County Public Health Division of the Health, Housing and Human Services Department is seeking a Policy Analyst to evaluate, monitor and consult in the development of work plans for public health programs, including environmental health, communicable disease control, health promotion & prevention, public health nursing and Women, Infants & Children (WIC) services. The person in this position will assist in workforce development & planning; community health improvement planning; policy development; accreditation documentation; and quality improvement initiatives.
The most important aspects of the position are analysis of policy and data related to public health programs, services, trends and problems. The incumbent conducts research and collects information, analyzes it and reports to administrative staff, with accompanying recommendations, supporting rationale and fiscal implications. The employee would be expected to provide assistance and support in the collection and reporting of community needs assessment for the public health organization.

CLACKAMAS COUNTY – Epidemiologist – Clackamas County Public Health Division – Oregon City, OR
Clackamas County Public Health is seeking an Epidemiologist to analyze the health status of the population and data related to the health of the community; to serve as a data consultant to County staff and partners; and to respond to and investigate communicable disease outbreaks.
The Epidemiologist is responsible for completing investigative and analytical activities related to the surveillance, detection, and prevention of diseases and conditions at the population-based level. This position also provides subject-matter expertise for technical issues regarding quantitative project/data collection and management, and is able to use statistical methods to analyze disease or health outcome data. Epidemiological findings are summarized in reports, as well as formal and informal presentations for dissemination to a variety of audiences.

DOUGLAS COUNTY – Communicable Disease Registered Nurse – Douglas County DHS – Roseburg, Oregon
This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the Communicable Disease Program, HIV Prevention Program, Tuberculosis Program and the Perinatal Hepatitis B Program.  The CD Coordinator coordinates investigation of communicable disease and suspected and confirmed outbreaks under the guidance of the Oregon Health Authority and the Health Officer.  Additional duties include writing policies and procedures, promoting immunizations for vaccine preventable diseases, working with other agencies on local community communicable diseases and immunization issues.  The CD nurse assists in implementation and compliance with other state program elements such as Hepatitis B screening, immunization facilitation and school exclusion and other duties as assigned.

LANE COUNTY – Public Health Nursing Supervisor – Public Health/Maternal Child Health – Eugene, OR

LANE COUNTY – Community Health Nurse 2 – Public Health/Maternal Child Health (Nurse Family Partnership) – Eugene, OR
This position will work in the Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program. This program delivers education and support for low income, at risk, first-time mothers who meet the qualifications for enrollment in the NFP program. The successful candidate must be able to work autonomously.
Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited college or university; experience in maternal-child health home health and/or mental health services and bilingual in Spanish are preferred but not required.

    MULTNOMAH COUNTY – Maternal Child and Family Health Nutrition Manager – Health Department – Portland, OR

    MULTNOMAH COUNTY – Licensed Practical Nurse – Multnomah County Health Department – Portland, OR
    Multnomah County Health Department is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to serve as Panel Managers for our Integrated Clinical Services Health Centers. This recruitment will be used to fill regular AND/OR bilingual vacancies (be sure to indicate which language(s) you are fluent in on the Supplement Questions portion of the application). The Panel Manager tracks the health of the population of patients assigned to a provider panel. This includes proactively tracking prevention activities, screening and chronic disease monitoring and providing patient education. The LPN provides scrubbing for upcoming provider appointments and participates in huddles. Manages team communication including answering team phone, addressing messages and in-basket as well as patient communication and follow-up. Submits refill requests and prior authorizations to providers in a timely manner. Performs general provider support duties as needed to support clinic flow including rooming patients, ordering labs as directed, giving immunizations, and medications as needed. Assists with assessment of walk-ins as necessary.

    Multnomah County – Dietician – Multnomah County– Portland, OR
    The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children or WIC program, provides breastfeeding education and support, nutrition education, nutritious food and referrals to community resources to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women and children from birth to age 5.  In Multnomah County, the WIC Program serves families from many different cultural and ethnic traditions, languages, backgrounds and abilities and is designed to promote positive health outcomes, strengthen life course nutrition and health, and reduce health disparities in the populations we serve.

    As the WIC Dietitian you will provide WIC certification, nutritional counseling and care plans to WIC participants with an emphasis on those with high risks and special needs. You will also provide consultation to WIC team members and review incoming formula and special requests coming from health care providers and community partners.

    UMATILLA COUNTY – Environmental Health Specialist I or II – Umatilla County Health Department – Pendleton, OR
    This position inspects restaurants, mobile food units and temporary restaurants to assure compliance with the laws and rules; instructs food handlers on proper food handling procedures and equipment maintenance; participates in food handler classes required for certifications. Investigates complaints and disease outbreaks concerning food, water, animals, sewage disposal and communicable disease as required by law. Inspects public swimming pools, spa pools, traveler’s accommodations, and recreation parks and campgrounds for compliance with state laws and regulations; prepares compliance schedules and assists in arranging for necessary improvements. Reviews plans for proposed food service establishments, swimming pools, spa pools, tourist and travelers accommodation and care facilities to assure compliance to rules. Inspects care facilities and schools for food service, water supplies, sewage disposal, solid waste practices, and general cleanliness and safety; arranges for necessary improvements. Maintains records of inspections and other activities; prepares reports and recommendations; completes reports for state as requested/required.
